British Waterways

Rich in heritage, abundant in wildlife and alive with culture, inland waterways are as popular today as they've ever been. Half the population lives within five miles of one of our canals and rivers and an incredible 11 million people use them every year as part of their everyday life - as a short-cut to work, walking the dog or simply taking time-out and watching the boats.

Independent surveys show that nine out of ten people agree that they are an important part of the nation's heritage, and it's British Waterways' job to ensure they remain so, whilst serving a modern purpose for the local communities through which they pass.

Canal Boat Association

In any household the plan to buy a new boat will have been thought about, perhaps argued about, and discussed again and again. In mine it certainly would. Then once the exciting decision is taken there comes that all important first contact with a boatbuilder - but which boatbuilder? Clearly what's needed is the assurance that the builder will be knowledgeable, will be friendly, will know that what suits one owner would not suit another and will be abreast of the best safety standards. By buying from a member of the Canal Boatbuilders Association you can be sure of all those things for that is how our members work.

British Marine Federation

The British Marine Federation mission statement states they will create, develop and resource high quality services, benefits and commercial activities to promote our industry and its products and work with our members to achieve sustainable growth in a multinational environment.
