Beatrice marks Kingsground’s second build for Lakeland Leisure Estates and showcases what can be achieved when bespoke craftsmanship meets modern lifestyle expectations. Designed as a 58ft cruiser stern narrowboat, Beatrice combines time-honoured boatbuilding methods with premium finishes, offering comfort and refinement without compromise. Created as both a practical liveaboard and a showcase vessel, she embodies the quality and attention to detail that define both Kingsground and Lakeland Leisure.
Beatrice’s standout features lie in her balance of form and function. Inside, she boasts precision solid oak woodwork, white tongue-and-groove panelling, and a galley fitted with quartz worktops, premium appliances, and clever storage. The saloon features a cosy Hamlet stove framed by striking blue tiles, while the bathroom is home to a geometric mosaic splashback and high-spec fittings. Built on a ColeCraft shell and powered by a Beta 43 engine, every element is chosen for performance and style. It’s no surprise that she was the centre of attention at BoatLife 2024.
Getting Beatrice ready for display at the NEC in Birmingham presented a few logistical challenges—not least transporting and preparing a fully finished narrowboat for a live event. But thanks to the team’s meticulous project management and clear communication, the handover was seamless. And it was well worth it: within hours of the show opening, Beatrice had found her new owners. Her swift sale spoke volumes about the rising demand for high-end, individualised canal boats and Kingsground’s ability to deliver exactly that.
